The Chefs’ Table Society of BC (CTS) and Pacific Prawn Fishermen’s Association (PPFA) are thrilled to announce that the “Wildly Popular” Spot Prawn Festival is returning Sunday, May 26, 2024 tot Fishermen’s Wharf on False Creek.

Chefs’ Table Society President, Chef Johnny Bridge, who has done his share of spot prawn fishing on the coast, states, “Every year, I eagerly anticipate the spot prawn season, when we celebrate the arrival of this incredible shellfish from British Columbia’s waters. The Spot Prawn Festival unites the Chef’s Table initiatives, supporting both our culinary community and the peak season of BC’s spot prawns, in a delightful event that brings families together.”

Chefs’ Table Society has been happy to celebrate Spot Prawn Festival since 2006. The festival was created to promote a domestic market for this seasonal and sustainable seafood. It also continues to be Chefs’ Table Society’s annual fundraiser that allows the society to support scholarships for culinary students, and to provide education, mentorship and sustainability initiatives for the culinary industry. Funds will also support the society’s long-term legacy project, the CTS Culinary Centre, that will become a home for the culinary industry and food lovers.
