- Jesse McMillan created a checklist of information to be provided Townhall so all needed details are communicated;
- Media training required for chefs: Leeann to organize and CTS to organize a “media training” event - pending
- Official spokespersons’ list to be organized – pending
- Celine to resend list of expectations to Leeann to plan for next year’s events.
- Completed surveys were not sent by all Board members – PLEASE COMPLETE AND SEND YOUR SURVEY

- Events
- Wild Salmon Celebration – debrief (finally!) with Wild Salmon Marketing Council; Very happy with the event; Wild Salmon Marketing Council indicated they want to do the event again; Their marketing person will supply potential dates; CTS recommended going with local chefs (Vancouver, Island and Interior)
- Slow Fish Dinner: 89 tix sold; $420 profit; Limit travel expenses; Research fish cost and allocate quantity/budget; for next year approach David Suzuki foundation (Oceanwise to work with them) in establishing fish provenance
- Scott to follow up on 2018 chefs’ congress
- 2018 events calendar –
- March – PICA Kitchen Party (wine festival event) – Saturday, March 3 - Chair: Darren Clay
- March – Curry Cup 2018 - Tuesday March 20 – Chair: Neil Wyles
- May - Spot Prawn Event – no boil; long tables; revisit what will be served
- June - Food truck – Chairs: Danny Markowicz, Alex Tung with third chef to maintain continuity; Neil to ask Yaletown (first right of refusal)
- August – Wild Salmon Celebration (TBC)
- September – Slow Fish Dinner - Sunday September 23 (TBC)
- Robert Belcham to set-up meeting with event company to review how a partnership might benefit CTS.
- Fundraising/Scholarship Committee
- Danny met with ED BCHF – they have 1 scholarship confirmed; award will be delayed until further scholarships are organized
- CTS to give scholarships?
- Work on PR to promote scholarships with other organizations to maximize exposure
- Celine to e-introduce Yves Potvin and Danny
- Miscellaneous:
- Donation: Fundme campaign for BC wine –Motion to give $1000 – accepted unanimously
- Angelina Froste: $200 donation of “urgently needed goods” (as per their Web site) to East Side Women’s Shelter
- Chef meets Truck donation to Greater Vancouver Food Bank – very well received, will be more involved with the marketing of the event next year and would like to work with CTS more.
- 2018 Board composition: all current members are staying on (Ryan to confirm); Tret Jordan, Jesse McMillan and Colin Staus to be added.
- Mental Health issue (postponed)
- New committees media training – Townhall - pending
- Presentation by Coastline Market – Tommy Loewe and Robert Kirstiuk presented their company Coastline Market (coastlinemarket.com) a platform to link fishermen and chefs;
- Hawksworth Young Chef Scholarship: back page of program included logo of CTS as founding partner
