  1. Board
    • Vikram welcomed new board members.
    • Board members received a copy of “Board of Directors Responsibilities”.
    • Filled board positions (see attached list of board members for 2007)
    • Robert Clark suggested that if a portfolio has 2 directors one must attend the board meeting.
  2. Spot Pawn Festival
    • Robert Clark has posted information regarding the local spot prawns on the forum, members to read.
    • The local spot prawn season will open May 1, 2007 and run for about 8 weeks.
    • Steve will be selling the spot prawns from the Fisherman’s Wharf.  Cost of prawns will be $12 per pound for non-members and $10 per pound for chef table society members.  Steve will donate back to the chefs table society, $0.50 for every pound purchased by a member.
    • Prawns can be purchased on the dock for cash.  For a net 14 day term, members are to speak to Steve directly.
    • The society could pay for young chefs to go out on the boat for the day with Steve, lunch would be provided the cost per chef would be around $100.  A $60 fishing license is required.
    • Spot runs will arrive to the dock fresh.
    • Steve will provide the chefs with educational seminars on how to handle the spot prawns.
    • Steve will take chefs phone numbers and call them when the boat is heading in.
    • Prawns are to be picked up at the dock.  For delivery arrangements speak to Steve directly.
    • Jamie Maw suggests the board approach Gord Martin about setting up a tent around Go Fish to hold the Spot Prawn Festival.
    • Karri Schuermans suggested the board approach Oceanwise to cross promote the festival.

Next Board meeting will be held Monday, April 2, 2007 3pm, Vij’s Restaurant.  
Board meetings will be held the last Monday of every month.  Meetings will not be held in July, August or December.
