  1. Reviewed other food related websites
    • Waiterblog.ca

  2. Society Registration

    • Jeremy will register chefstablesociety.com
    • Felt that we should not use vancouverchefs.com as it may be confusing, the society name would be better.
    • Need to design a logo that will be used throughout the site.  Mary will contact Jamie Maw.
  3. Forums
    • are members only
    • Public should be able to see the forum topics in order to entice them to join.
    • Calendar of events is open to the public.
    • Board needs to select the forum topic headings, Jeremy suggest 3 to 5 to keep it simple.
    • Passwords and usernames on the forums must clearly identify the individual, no disguises.
    •  Suggestions included:
      Suppliers/chefs
      Sourcing products
      Staffing
      Industry communications
      Education/schools
  4. Membership & Website
    • Membership applications to be sent to the society administrator, board to approve membership and return an email to the applicant to welcome them to the society and provide them with a username and password.
    • Members will pay membership dues through paypal, if an applicant is denied they will be refunded through paypal.
    • Not possible to have website up and running by January 31st, need to meet again with board to discuss further details.
    • Mary will contact Jeremy with a date for a follow-up meeting.  Jeremy will work on materials to show us at the next meeting.

  5. Other Business Website

    • Sid will look into the date of year end, should be 15 months from date of incorporation, September 2004.
    • Jack recommends that the board consider any expenses to go out before the fiscal year end.
