  1. Marcia Freeman – Granville Island Marketing Director
    • Granville Island would like to partner with the CTS in future events.   Day tables could be made available for the CTS in the market.  Would love to see cooking demos and competitions by chefs featuring local products.
    • There is an autumn food festival on October 27, 2007.  Granville Island would like the Chefs Table Society to participate.
    • CTS would like Granville Island Market to encourage more local products.
    • Granville Island will also host Winteruption in February 2008 (21-24th).  About 50,000 will attend this cultural event.  Federal funding for this event has been pulled and there is limited funding from the CHMC.  Granville Island would like the showcase local sustainable food products.  CTS noted that this is around Dine Out and perhaps the public would be overloaded with too much?  CTS could hold a 2nd annual culinary challenge with an AGM tied into this event.   Vancouver Magazine’s Big Night is also being held in February 2008.
    • CTS suggest having committee brain storm ideas to hold an event at Granville Island on October 27, 2007.  Nominated to committee were John, Robert Feenie, Thomas, Vikram and Robert Clark.
    • Tiffany will be the contact for Marcia Freeman.
  2. Spot Prawn Festival
    • Granville Island Market thanked the chef’s table society for including them in cross promotion of the spot prawn festival, it was a good partnership.  Lots of positive feedback from the public attending.  Spot prawns continue to sell well at the markets 3 fish store
  3. Website
    • Andrew would like to propose changes to the CTS website.  A motion was passed to have Andrew design and manage the site.  Tiffany will put Andrew in contact with Jeremy, Jeremy to continue with tech support.  Andrew will present some new ideas to the board.

  • Next Board meeting will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 2pm, Vij’s Restaurant.  
  • Board meetings will be held the last Monday of every month.  Meetings will not be held in July, August or December.
