Approval of board minutes from January 7th, 2008
- Financial
- Neil provided a financial statement for February 2008, total cash and GIC value is $35,816.28
- Spot Prawn Festival
- Presentation by Steve Johansen of Organic Ocean.
- Confirmed sponsorship from Spot Prawn Association ($4000), Go Fish ($500), False Creek Wharf ($1,500) and Organic Ocean ($500).
- Steve will be able to provide earlier deliveries this year.
- Event will have more food stations this year, 6 stations with 2 chefs rotating at each station.
- Tables will be offered to membership. Steve will provide spot prawns for food stations.
- Each chef must provide a recipe to be printed out on cards to hand out and be posted on the CTS website.
- Tasting tickets will be sold to the public for food sampling and water, $1.00 per ticket.
- Would like to give out prizes of live spot prawns to the public.
- Tony will organize volunteers to attend.
- Contact Green Table for biodegradable plates and forks.
- Tiffany will contact Granville Island Market about demos in the market.Tiffany will provide Andrew with photos from Spot Prawn Festival 2007. Andrew will post photos on Urban Diner.
- Fundraising Events – Dinner at Elixir and other events
- Don gave a report on final details of organizing the March 10th fundraising dinner at Elixir.
- Tiffany organized donations for silent auction to be held at the dinner.
- Discussed options for the next fundraising dinner to be held after Elixir dinner in March. Possibilities included holding 4 seasonal dinners per year. Host chefs would chair the event and select the theme of the dinner. Discussed a summer dinner similar to outstanding in the field but held in a winery or to bring chefs from the Okanagan to Vancouver to cook.
- Fundraising Event – Dinner at Elixir
- Fundraising dinner hosted by Don at Opus. Fermentation (cultured) is the theme of the fundraising dinner. There will be 5 tables of 10 with a chef, producer and food critic at each table. The event will be posted on Urban Diner and Tiffany will put out press releases as well. The 5 course dinner will be prepared by 5 up and coming chefs. Cost of dinner will be $225 plus tax per person, 35 seats will be sold. Will also hold a silent auction.
- New Business
- AGM will be held in the fall.
- Look into apprenticeship programs for students, GO2 researching.
- Future discussions on scholarship vs. mentorship.
- Douglas and McIntyre are interested in a 2nd Vancouver Cooks book.

- Board meetings will be held the last Monday of every month. Meetings will not be held in July, August or December.
