Scholarships and Bursaries
The Chefs' Table Society supports the advancement of students and cooks in the culinary fields via scholarships and bursaries, which are either awarded singly by the Society or in partnership with organizations that we support.
All applicants must be an Industry member in good standing.

ANNUAL AWARDS
Scholarships are open to students and cooks of all ages who are keen to begin basic training in the culinary arts or those who are already skilled and looking to refine or expand their expertise. Applicants must be a member in good standing with the Chefs' Table Society.
All awards are based on merit and ability, and amounts awarded vary according to the specific program. Each application is reviewed and evaluated by the scholarship committee made up of Chefs' Table Society members.
Note: scholarships rarely cover a complete tuition and not all applicants are awarded funds.
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The Society offers scholarships and bursaries to students applying for culinary school. Applicants may be planning to apply or be currently enrolled in culinary school. Applicants must give details of their passion, commitment, and desire to be in the culinary industry.
BCHF Culinary Scholarship
Are you looking to start your career in the culinary industry? You are eligible to apply for a BCHF Culinary Scholarship. There are barriers to switching careers or getting started but money shouldn’t be one.
Along with the BC Hospitality Foundation the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia has five scholarships to award to those who express clearly an interest and desire to work in the BC culinary industry.
The Chefs’ Table Society of BC selects the students and the BCHF funds the scholarships.

John Bishop Scholarship
Apply by August 9, 2024
In the spirit of John Bishop’s extraordinary passion for hospitality, each year, scholarships will be awarded to deserving food and beverage people in the following categories:
1. Chefs or cooks, perhaps emerging or under-recognized, who have exemplified high standards in utilizing local and sustainable ingredients;
2. Front-of-house service persons who consistently exemplify high standards in the spirit of ‘true hospitality’;
3. Farmers, fishers, ranchers and suppliers who exemplify best quality practices for sustainability and food security.
For 2024, SIX ENTRANTS will be sent to COOKS CAMP2024, a celebration of the Canadian culinary industry, brought to you ‘by cooks, for cooks and all hospitality workers, fostering knowledge, camaraderie and the sustainability of our profession.’
The Bishop Award will pay for a two-day ticket and a fuel expense offset of $125, for a total value of $500.
