Student Scholarship Application Form – Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia

Applications open from September to December each year.

The Chefs Table Society of British Columbia is proud to grant scholarships to individuals at any stage of their culinary career who are enrolled in a recognized culinary college in British Columbia.

Applications reviewed in January.
Scholarship awarded late February (official presentation at CTS AGM).

Eligibility

Applicant must be enrolled in a recognized BC Culinary learning institution.
Applicant must be a current BC resident and is expected to continue working in BC for two years after receiving the scholarship.

Criteria

Dedication to all things culinary
Passion for food and positive kitchen culture
Merit and ability based on experience and/or college grades
Career goals and ambition
Desire to pursue a career in the culinary arts.
All applicants must be BC residents.

We encourage applicants to demonstrate above criteria in their application essay and accompanying transcript, resume and references.

Important details

Scholarship value is $1000.
More than one scholarship may be awarded each year to more than one student.
Scholarships cannot be awarded to the same recipient in two consecutive years.
Award must be used for expenses relating to culinary education. Tuition, equipment, uniforms, housing etc.
Not all applicants will be awarded funds.

a. Tell us your story! We’re looking for a maximum of 750 words (approx. 3 pages, 12 point font, double spaced).
Two current letters of reference.
a. These should be professional references in the last 1-2 years and match the names you give in the References section of the application form.

I understand that, should I receive an award from the Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia, as a condition to my acceptance of this award, I hereby agree that neither the Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia, nor any of its officers, directors, employees or agents shall be responsible for, and I hereby release and agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia, from (i) any and all costs and expenses (other than, but not specifically limited to, tuition and other items identified in writing by the grantor of this scholarship) I have incurred or in the future may incur (including, but not limited to, room and board, transportation, meals, uniforms and other clothing), and (ii) any and all personal injury and property damage and any other claims, causes of action or other damages I sustain, in connection with my participation in the Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia's scholarship program. Should I receive an award from the Chefs' Table Society of British Columbia, permission is granted to use my name for publicity purposes.
